Saab to set up sales network, plant in China
Swedish car manufacturer Saab AB plans to ink agreement with related parties by the end of this year, in order to build sales network and expand its auto sales in China, sources reported, citing CEO Jan-Aake Jonsson as saying.
The company will confirm the establishment of the sales network in China this year, said Jonsson, adding that Saab will form partnerships with ten to 15 distributors and is likely to set up sales network in five to six cities.
He said that Saab will touch the plant plan upon the sales of model Saab 9-3 in China reach 2,000 units.
Separately, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corp Ltd, the fifth-largest automaker in China, last year purchased the tooling and powertrain technologies for the generation Saab 9-5 and 9-3. The technologies are expected to be used for the production of BAIC's own brand cars in China, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
