China Unicom, Geely Develop 3G Smart Vehicle

China Unicom (600050) and Geely Automobile Holdings (0175.HK) signed an agreement to jointly launch a 3G smart automobile, reports ezjsr.com. Geely’s Dihao model will be equipped with intelligent products allowing users to surf the web, receive mail, watch television and listen music in the 3G vehicle.

GPS and radio communication systems in the vehicle can also provide car owners with online videos, emergency help and security guarantee services.

China Unicom vice president Jiang Zhengxin said that by cooperating with Geely, China Unicom could improve its telecommunication and system integration technologies in the car industry.
