Shanghai General Motors leads passenger vehicle sales in January
SteelGuru - China Knowledge reported that Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd, a joint venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp or SAIC sold 128,500 passenger vehicles in China last month ranking first in the Chinese top automaker list released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
1. SGMW a JV established by SAIC, GM China and Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd ranked second with sales of 121,500 passenger vehicles
2. Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd with 113,000 units
3. FAW-VW Automobile Co Ltd with 101,000 units
4. Chery Automobile Co Ltd with 85,800 units
5. Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd with 77,500 units
6. Dongfeng Nissan Ltd with 75,300 units
7. Beijing Hyundai Motor Co with 72,300 units
8. BYD Co Ltd with 52,100 units
9. Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co Ltd with 48,900 units
Passenger vehicle sales of the ten companies totaled 875,900 units in January accounting for 57% of the total passenger vehicle sales in China in the same month.
In January, Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd topped commercial vehicle sales in China with 56,100 autos were sold followed by Beiqi Foton Motor Co Ltd with 49,100 units and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd with 26,700 units.
