Harbin tells dealers to halt sales of Kumho tires
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 25) - The Harbin Administration of Industry and Commerce's Consumer Affairs Department requested all dealers within the city to halt sales of Tianjin-made Kumho tires at a hearing held on March 23, Xinhua reported today. Members at the hearing said that any dealer with Kumho-equipped cars should comply with consumer requests to remove the tires free of charge.
Administration Director Wang Xukun said that they were over 20 Kumho tire-related lawsuits on March 23 alone. During the hearing members further requested that all dealers present reports to the committee concerning sold and remaining Kumho-equipped vehicles by March 28.
Mr. Wang said that starting from the day of the hearing, the administration would commence inspection of all dealers involved. Any dealers found to continue selling Kumho-equipped vehicles would risk having their products confiscated. Dealers found to have over half of their stock still with Kumho tires would be fined.
