JAC, Chery possibly to merge

After the development of 50 years, 9 traditional industries such as coal, metallurgy, equipment & manufacture, auto, chemical engineering, home appliance, food, textile and building material have been formed in Anhui old industrial bases.

In Anhui, old industrial bases include Hefei, Huaibei, Huainan, Bengbu, Wuhu, Ma'anshan, Tongling and Anqing.

The old industrial bases in our province are facing an increasingly prominent issue due to mechanism, system and regulation.

After long-term exploitation, the cities such as Tongling, Ma'anshan, Huainan and Huaibei are on the edge of exhaution of resources as these cities are resource-based.

In addition, the ecology of old industrial bases has been worsening.

In order to solve current problems, we must re-plan the old industrial bases.

What is the prospect of old industrial bases in the future ? GDP per capita will be doubled during the period of 12th Five-Year Plan compared with that in 2010.

"A batch of independent auto brands such as Chery, JAC and Hualing will be promoted to merge; domestic key spare parts enterprises and foreign well-known auto parts suppliers will be introduced in a bid to form a sound system for car manufacturers and parts; the construction of industrial bases for auto parts in Hefei, Wuhu and Ma'anshan will be speeded up in an effort to consolidate and raise the status across the country."

Strategically emerging industries should be fostered in a bid to strive for 700 billion yuan of industrial value by 2015. Hefei will form the base of national flat panel display and voice industry; Bengbu will become the base of PV, biological energy and biomedical industry.
