Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 7) - The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has rejected Changan Mazda's proposal to set up a new independent joint venture, the Yangcheng Evening News reported today. Reportedly the NDRC decision was based on the lack of details presented regarding own brand and R&D establishment plans. Changan Mazda has already submitted a new proposal outlining both points to the NDRC.

Changan Mazda first announced it was splitting up from the three-way JV Changan Ford Mazda last May. The JV has furthermore already set up plans earlier this year to move its headquarters from Beijing to Nanjing.
