Toyota increases European sales by 13%

Galway Independent - Toyota has reported a 13 per cent increase in new car sales for Toyota and Lexus models in Europe for the first quarter of this year. Toyota reports that monthly vehicle sales have consistently exceeded targets since June 2010.

Toyota's overall monthly sales in March surpassed the 100,000 mark for the first time since March 2009, with increased demand for Toyota's Aygo, Auris, RAV4 and Land Cruiser. Toyota claims that the new Toyota Verso-S and Lexus CT 200h also made strong debuts in the first quarter of 2011.

Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles sales were up 28 per cent from 2010. March also saw Toyota's global hybrid sales reach the three million mark. In Ireland, Toyota sales have increased by 28 per cent in the first quarter over 2010 while Lexus sales have increased 62 per cent over the same period.
