Guangqi Honda's sales in China may decrease to 18000 this month

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 7) - According to insider sources, Guangqi Honda anticipates its May sales to be half of last month's, China Business News reported earlier this week. Said sources fear sales this month as low as 19,000, coming after a decrease of 18,000 units in April.

Due to a large inventory stored during February to March, it's hard even for Guangqi Honda dealers to have faith in the joint venture's sales. "Perhaps at the end of this month, the inventory will nullify our preferential pricing," one dealer was quoted as saying.

In other news, Honda's other joint venture, Dongfeng Honda, has seen its sales in April decrease by 5,000 units, and are feared to decrease by as much as 8,000 this month.
