Chery to begin selling E5 this July
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 18) - Chery's entry-level E5 sedan, which debuted at last month's automobile exhibition Auto Shanghai 2011, will hit the market this July, auto.ifeng.com reported today. The E5 will reportedly be marked between 70,000 and 90,000 yuan ($10,766-$13,841).
The E5 is the counterpart to the Chery A5, later sold as the Cowin 3, and borrows styling cues from its older brother. The car's dimensions are virtually identical to the A5.
While the interior of the E5 is also similar to the A5, it takes its own route with a black and grey interior and clearly labelled instrument panel. Under the hood, the E5 comes with a 1.5 L or 1.8 L engine mated to either a manual or continuously variable transmission.
