All-electric C30 to lead BAIC's new energy vehicle production
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 23) - BAIC Motor will begin producing personal new energy vehicles by this July, the manufacturer told Xinhua at the floor of this year's China Beijing International High-tech Expo. The first of its new energy models to go on sale will be the pure electric C30 sedan.
The C30 (pictured) would be a new change for the company towards a full electric future, Zhan Wen, vice president of BAIC's electric vehicle division, said. The C30 would be able to be driven for 100 km on one charge, with a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
BAIC hopes to manufacture 3,500 pure electrics next year for both private and public use. The BAIC name can be found on around 1,000 new energy buses, police vehicles and mail trucks.
