China's JAC Motors becomes Brazil's second most imported car brand
Macauhub (São Paulo) - Chinese group JAC Motors (Jianghuai Automobile Co.) overtook 28 automotive manufacturers to become the second most imported vehicle brand in Brazil in March, the group's first complete month of sales, by placing 2,095 vehicles on the market, according to the Brazilian press.
JAC Motors came second only to South Korea's Kia motors, which is the leader amongst the brands imported into Brazil and in March sold 7,708 vehicles, accounting for 46.45 percent of the market segment.
Businessman Sergio Habib, the Chinese brand's representative, said that the success of the J3, the JAC Motors model available in Brazil, made it possible for sales projections to increase to 45,000 units by the end of the year, which would, "ensure a 1.3 percent share of the Brazilian automotive market."
The success of the J3 is due to the fact that, unlike other manufacturers, it offers a higher level of standard equipment than competitors provide and at lower than market average price.
