Chery's former sales VP to join Youngman

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 8) - Former Vice President of Chery's sales division Huang Zhiqiang will be taking up his place as VP for Youngman's passenger car division Lotus, not to be confused with its partner famed UK sports car manufacturer Lotus Cars, nbd.com.cn reported today.

Youngman's Lotus brand, which began cooperating with UK's Lotus Cars in 2006, has disappointed many in the industry with its domestic sales volume last year only around 30,000 units. During their four years of cooperation, Youngman and Lotus expanded their lineup from sports car to include eight models and opened a joint research center in the country.

In addition to his experience at Chery, Mr. Huang has also worked at Shanghai VW. He now faces the challenge of spurring Youngman's sales. According to CEO Pang Qingnian's plan, Youngman plans to sell its 500,000th vehicle this month.
