Dongfeng Nissan considering increasing imports
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 10) - Ren Yong, vice president of Dongfeng Nissan, told morning.sc.cn today that the joint venture was considering expanding its range of imported vehicles.
Mr. Ren said that as the automobile market continues to expand without any foreseeable end in sight, more and more consumers are demanding a greater degree of individuality in their purchases. Although Dongfeng Nissan has already brought in and localized a great number of vehicles, the amount is still not enough to meet the enormous demand. The joint venture is looking to bring in more models to meet the demands of more and more narrow segments in the market. Mr. Ren hinted that Dongfeng Nissan is strongly considering models currently sold in North America.
Nissan began importing a slew of vehicles in 2007, including the Fuga, Quest, Cefiro, March and Patrol, however soon after the manufacturer took full control of the Infiniti brand new imports almost stopped entirely.
