Czech Skoda H1 sales rise by 20.1% year-on-year
Reuters (Prague) - Car sales at Skoda Auto, a Czech unit of Volkswagen, rose by 20.1 percent year on year in the first half with all of its markets contributing, the company said on Wednesday.
The Czech Republic's largest company by revenue, sold 454,700 cars in the first six months of the year. It sold 81,300 units in June alone up from 71,300 last year, the highest June sales on record.
In China, Skoda sold 112,200 units in the period, up by 33.4 percent year on year. Sales in Russia grew by 33.6 percent to 7,000 units.
Sales in Western Europe, including the U.K., Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands all grew at a double digit pace in the second half, the car maker said.
