Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 28) - Beiqi (BAIC) and Daimler AG have recently put out a joint announcement that Mercedes-Benz China and Beijing Benz would undertake intensive cooperation in sales, nbd.com.cn reported today. The two companies would combine resources together to help increase sales of Benz vehicles in the country.

According to the agreement, the cooperation between both sides would be divided into several phases, which ultimately will see Beijing Benz and Mercedes-Benz China combine their sales and marketing departments. Both sides will bring the best of their talent and resources to help complete the agreement.

Ever since the German manufacturer's entry into China, Mercedes-Benz has divided its business among Beijing Benz and Mercedes-Benz China. Both BAIC and Daimler have expressed their support for bringing new models and further developing their research and development efforts.

Over 95,000 Benzes were sold in the country from January to June of this year, a boost of 59 percent from the first half of last year.
