Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 6) - Chery exported 17,008 vehicles in July, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported earlier this week. The figure is almost double the amount higher – 92.53 percent to be exact – than the amount exported last July and set a new monthly record for the manufacturer.

Chery exports from the start of the year totaled 88,835 units, already completing 74.03 percent of the manufacturer's 2011 export goal. Chery looks to reach that target three months in advance.

Chery began construction on its new $400 million Brazilian factory late last month, signifying a new step for the brand's global strategy. The new factory looks to manufacture 150,000 vehicles per year after construction. Chery looks to transfer a portion of its production capability from China to South America.
