FAW Mazda announces lower 2011 Chinese sales target of 150000

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 8) - Due to poor market conditions in the first half of the year, FAW Mazda announced that it has revised its 2011 Chinese sales target of 200,000 vehicles downwards to 150,000 vehicles, the Beijing News reported today.

According to company statistics, FAW Mazda sold 136,000 vehicles in China from January to August of this year, 5 percent lower than the amount sold from January 2010 to August 2010. Fellow Mazda joint venture Changan Mazda also saw a similar fall in its January to August sales performance.

In other news, Mazda China has also revised its total sales target for the year down to 260,000 vehicles.
