Guangqi Toyota sets 2015 goal of 600000 sales

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 16) - Guangqi Toyota has entered a new era, with the joint venture's cumulative automobile sales reaching one million last month. The JV hopes to build on this success, with Executive Vice President Feng Xingya announcing Guangqi Toyota's 2015 annual sales target of 600,000 vehicles, China Business News reported today.

The Toyota Camry (pictured) played the driving force behind Guangqi Toyota's sales, with sales approaching 800,000 since its introduction to the Chinese market. The countdown to the market introduction of the new generation Camry has also begun. Additionally, the JV has several expansion plans outlined in its new goals for the introduction of several news vehicles. "Guangqi Toyota possesses the ability and demand to bring over many new models," Mr. Feng said.

To date Guangqi Toyota already offers four domestically manufactured and three imported vehicles covering several market segments. According to company sources, China has already become a key market for Toyota, especially following the earthquake in Japan earlier this year.
