Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 19) - In the wake of the devastating earthquake earlier this year, the phasing out of preferential vehicle purchase policies and various other economic factors, Honda, Mazda and other Japanese manufacturers have been rushing to revise their Chinese sales targets for 2011. In response to this phenomenon, Toyota China announced that it would not change its annual sales goal of 900,000 vehicles, the Beijing News reported today.

Sources from Toyota's Chinese joint venture, Guangqi Toyota, revealed that their production fully recovered in June. The joint venture's sales up to September have reportedly exceeded 190,000 units, more than enough to compensate for the loss due to the earthquake. The JV is planning to achieve a sales target of 280,000 vehicles this year.
