Peugeot in strategic Saudi partnership deal

Arab News - The French car brand Peugeot has been re-launched in Saudi Arabia through its new dealer Haji Husein Alireza & Co. Ltd.

French diplomats and a number of senior company executives attended the special event.

This partnership between Peugeot and Haji Hussein Alireza & Co. Ltd. (HHA) combines 300 years of experience of both parties. This vast experience will be exploited to strengthen Peugeot brand in Saudi Arabia, said an official.

In his speech on at the event, Ali Hussein Alireza, managing director of HHA, said Peugeot's great reputation encouraged them to go for the dealership.

He added: "Our confidence in Peugeot cars increased after we came familiar with its advanced technologies and capabilities. We anticipated that it will enjoy great success. We aim to set up 18 showrooms and two service centers around Saudi Arabia which will strengthen Peugeot's presence in the Saudi car market."

Vincent Rambaud, general manager of Peugeot, said the partnership is rich and promising and will help promote the Peugeot brand in Saudi Arabia.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Amin Abulhasan, chairman of HHA, for his confidence to accept the challenge, which inevitably will be beneficial for our both companies," he said.

He added: "Through this partnership agreement, we aim to support Peugeot presence in the Saudi market, which is expected to exceed 600,000 units this year, and expected to reach one million units in 2017 and represents the first automotive market in the region."

Initially, various models that meet the demand of 50 percent of the local market will be offered.

These models represent a backbone of Peugeot vehicles and other cars will be offered in order to fully cover the Saudi market needs.

Peugeot is available in 160 countries and has more than 10,000 sale outlets.
