Shanghai VW sales in February exceed 100000

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 5) - Shanghai Volkswagen sold 103,202 vehicles last month, 29 percent higher than the amount sold last February, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today.

Of that amount, sales of Volkswagens totaled 84,352 units. Shanghai VW's flagship model, the new generation Passat (pictured above), performed well, with a total of 15,906 units sold. The new Polo 2 (pictured below) also broke the 10,000 barrier, with 10,050 units sold. The Tiguan SUV and Lavida compact continued to sell well, with sales of 15,487 and 21,996 units, respectively.

Meanwhile, 18,850 Skoda vehicles were sold in the month, 11.8 percent more than last February. Sales of the Octavia increased the most, growing a full 40 percent to 13,052 units this year.
