Brilliance BMW's new Shenyang factory to begin operation in Q2

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 8) - In an interview with chengdu.cn, Brilliance BMW's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Daniel Kirchert confirmed that the joint venture's new production site will begin operation in the second quarter of the year, with production of the new 3 Series commencing by the end of the year. An excerpt of the interview with Dr. Kirchert follows:

chengdu.cn: "There have already been four successful holdings of the BMW Mission 3 publicity event. What has been their greatest accomplishment?"

Dr. Kirchert (pictured): "Several people participating in BMW Mission 3 have transformed from being simply interested in the brand to loyal BMW fans. [They] are passionate about our brand. This kind of experiment not only tested the BMW brand, but also the team spirit that comes when competing with others. The atmosphere was very good. Events like BMW Mission 3 can only be done on a person-to-person basis; there is no substitute for that."

chengdu.cn: "We know that Brilliance BMW is building a new factory in Shenyang. Can you give us a briefing on how it's going? Everyone is also very interested in the trend the BMW Brilliance brand is taking; can you give us any additional information?"

Dr. Kirchert: "The new (Tiexi) factory will open for business in the second quarter. We have already begun producing … the BMW X1. The technology at the Tiexi production site is the world's most cutting-edge, most modern and most environmentally friendly."

"Brilliance BMW has previously told us that they want us to promote our own brand. Within in the year we will share more detailed information about this brand with everyone, we're sure they won't have to wait too long."

chengdu.cn: "Not long ago foreign media reported that BMW will produce a long wheel base version of the 3 Series in China, with the first model speculated to be the 335Li. Can you share some more information with us?

Dr. Kirchert: "As with the second-generation long wheelbase 5 Series, we will deeply consider the demands of the Chinese consumer. We will be very precise in our [market] analysis for the 3 Series. The 3 Series models we have released are targeted at every type of consumer [in the Chinese market]. Everyone will be able to see our upcoming next generation 3 Series at this April's Beijing Auto Show (Auto China). It is worth the wait!
