Chery exports in February exceed 11000 vehicles

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 9) - Official statistics show that Chery exported 11,035 vehicles in February, a full 56.7 percent higher than last February's export figure, baoyewang.com reported today. The result shows that the Anhui-based manufacturer is off to a strong start in 2012.

Chery's QQ3 subcompact (pictured), traditionally one of its strongest selling models, only constituted 20.5 percent of Chery's exports this February. Sales of the Tiggo, A3 and Fulwin 2, meanwhile, increased, signifying that consumers are beginning to pay attention to the manufacturer's other offerings.

Something unique about Chery in February is the expansion of its production sites overseas, which reportedly now account for 55.5 percent of its total manufacturing ability. Evidently the manufacturer's attempts to plant sites overseas in the previous years are finally beginning to pay off. At the same time, Chery is increasing the quantity and quality of its products, which are slowing gaining the acceptance of foreign consumers.
