Geely officially announces logo change

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 9) - In an official announcement today, Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed Geely Automobile announced that they have officially replaced their previous logo, nddaily.com reported today. Geely attributes the logo change to marketing reasons, saying that the new logo, which is simply the manufacturer's English name in blue letters, is more recognizable and better suited for international demands. The manufacturer hopes the new logo will improve the image of the Geely brand worldwide.

Like many other automobile manufacturers, Geely has seen many logo changes throughout its 26 year history. The manufacturer has transitioned from the bull's head logo, which drew allegations from Toyota of copyright infringement, to its now more recognizable the 'six sixes' logo (pictured). In late 2010, the manufacturer announced its plans to establish three sub brands, Emgrand, Englon and Gleagle, and with that introduce three new logos. However, the Geely brand still remains better known than its subsidiaries worldwide, especially following the manufacturer's purchase of Swedish enterprise Volvo.
