Dongfeng plans to sell a total of 1m Fengshen automobiles by 2016

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 23) - Dongfeng Motor aims to sell a total of one million Fengshen own brand vehicles by 2016, Xinhua reported today, citing a statement made by manufacturer Vice General Manager Liu Weidong. Mr. Liu made the statement at a summit held in Beijing last week.

According to Mr. Liu, beginning this year, annual sales performance results for the Fengshen brand are expected to increase every year. Mr. Liu believes yearly sales in 2016 will reach 350,000 units. The Fengshen will also make its overseas debut next year. Exports are expected to account for 90,000 of the overall one million sales target.

In order to achieve the one million sales goal, Dongfeng will add nine new models to the Fengshen lineup within the next five years, Mr. Liu said. Furthermore, the manufacturer will also introduce six new e-TECO engines. By 2016, the Fengshen brand is expected to have models available for every segment of the passenger automobile market.

At the same time, Dongfeng will expand Fengshen's sales network, with plans to establish 500 new outlets by 2016. Fengshen dealers are expected to cover 80 percent of all prefecture-level cities.
