New and used car sales fell in Beijing in May

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 18) - Sales of both new and second-hand automobiles in Beijing fell in May, Beijing News reported today. Respective monthly sales results for new and used vehicles totaled 49,400 and 56,700 units, 1.98 percent and 3.9 percent less than April's results.

Meanwhile, promotions for and inventory numbers of imported and luxury vehicles in the city grew last month. According to statistics from the Beijing Yayuncun Car Market, the amount of vehicles spending over 30 days in inventory increased from 30 percent to 43 percent. Promotional offers for luxury automobiles rose from 15 percent to over 20 percent.
