Chery announces management change

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 27) - Chery Automobile has recently undergone a new shuffle in management. According to an official statement, as cited in a China Business News report appearing today, Ma Deji will no longer serve as the General Manager of manufacturer's sales company. He has instead been assigned to lead up quality assurance work. His post will be assumed by Zheng Zhaorui, who previously directed sales work for the Cowin series of sedans.

According to internal sources, Mr. Ma's (pictured) new post will be crucial in maintaining Chery's interest in its upcoming joint venture partnership with Jaguar Land Rover. Mr. Ma has yet to officially comment on the nature of his new position.

Meanwhile, former Beiqi Foton Vice President and Brand Director Huang Huaqiong has been appointed as Assistant to the General Manager and Administrative Deputy General Manager of the manufacturer's sales company. Mr. Huang will be responsible for overseeing brand and product development.

In his time at Chery, Board Chairman Yin Tongyue has seen the manufacturer's growth exceed expectations. In the past year, Chery has already agreed to joint ventures with Israel Corporation and Jaguar Land Rover. In order to cope with the manufacturer's limited resources, Mr. Yin has had to make several strategic cuts throughout the company.
