Guangqi Honda sales grow 14% in 2012 H1

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 13) - Guangqi Honda sold a total of 176,324 vehicles from January to June, cqwb.com.cn reported today. The sales amount represents year-on-year growth of 14 percent for the joint venture.

Among its individual models, sales of the 2012 Accord Crosstour (pictured above), which made its Chinese debut in April, totaled 14,777 units during the six month period. Average monthly sales for the SUV fell just short of 5,000 units. Monthly sales of the Fit (pictured below), which was redesigned in March, have surpassed 4,000 units, equivalent to four percent market share. Around 3,000 own brand Everus S1 cars were sold on average per month. Meanwhile, the Accord, Odyssey and City continue to perform strongly in their respective segments.

Guangqi Honda has also made considerable progress in aftermarket customer service. The JV currently possesses 474 specially certified dealers specializing in aftermarket service. In a J. D. Power and Associations research survey on aftermarket customer satisfaction rates, Guangqi Honda placed first in 2009 and 2011, and second in 2010.

The JV is currently in the process of completing work on its third factory. It is also planning to bring over several new models to China, including hybrid versions of the CR-Z and Fit.
