BYD's new F3 Surui to make Chinese market debut later this August

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 5) - Sales of the BYD F3 Surui, which was announced at April's Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, are scheduled to begin later this month, autohome.com.cn reported earlier this week.

The Surui (pictured) is being touted as the replacement to the current F3. The car's exterior has undergone a major rehaul, with significant changes to the front grille and headlight design. The Surui is .15 m longer and .06 m wider than the current F3. It comes equipped with several features and sports remote driving technology. The new technology allows the driver to use their remote control key to turn on and operate the Surui when standing at a 20 m radius outside the vehicle.

The Surui comes with naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1.5 L engine options. The former, which powers BYD's current generation L3 and G3 models, can produce up to 109 hp, while the turbocharged version boasts a maximum output of 154 hp. In addition to the standard five-speed manual transmission, the Surui also comes with a dual clutch transmission option.
