Great Wall sells 50000 vehicles in July, sales grow 68%

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 13) - Great Wall's vehicle sales last month reach 500,000 units, Caijing reported today. The figure represents year-on-year growth of 68 percent for the manufacturer. Hebei-based Great Wall was one of the few domestic own brand manufacturers which managed to maintain positive sales growth this year.

According to Deputy General Manager Shang Yugui, Great Wall sold 25,500 Haval SUVs in July, near double the amount sold in July 2011. Monthly sales of its Voleex sedans and pickup trucks totaled 13,200 units and 11,000 units, respectively. Sales of the Haval H6 (pictured) remain high, bringing in a total of 13,258 orders for the manufacturer.

Great Wall exported 10,000 vehicles last month, almost double its July 2011 export figure.

The manufacturer reported a net profit of 2.36 billion yuan ($373.49m) for the first half of the year. The figure represents year-on-year growth of over 30 percent. Its business returns for the six month period totaled 18.29 billion yuan ($2.89b), 28.79 percent more than what it brought in the previous year.
