Honda China names former Infiniti China executive as deputy head of Acura

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 14) - Despite its relatively long time active in China, Honda's luxury brand Acura has not made much of an impact in the country. Slow introduction of new models and poor marketing are among the most commonly cited reasons for Acura's subpar progress. It seems Honda is finally started to pay attention to the issue. In a report appearing in the Beijing Morning Post today, Honda announced that former Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Infiniti China Chen Yue will take up the position of deputy general manager of Acura's business division. Mr. Chen, who will assume the post at the end of the month, will be responsible for Acura's strategic development in China.

Mr. Chen (pictured) has been attributed with Infiniti's strong performance in China. Despite the fact that it has been operating in China for a shorter time than Acura, Infiniti has already set up a program to manufacture its vehicles in the country. Honda hopes that Mr. Chen can help speed up Acura's progress in the country.
