BYD F3 Surui makes official Chinese market debut

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 21) - BYD held an official market launch ceremony for the F3 Surui today, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported. The car will be available in seven variants, with prices ranging from 65,900 yuan and 99,900 yuan ($10,400-$15,765).

The Surui (pictured) has been touted as the replacement to the current F3. The car's exterior has undergone a major rehaul, with significant changes to the front grille and headlight design. The Surui is .15 m longer and .06 m wider than the current F3, with its wheelbase measuring 2.66 m. The Surui has 205/55 tires on its sixteen inch wheels.

The Surui comes equipped with several features, including traction control and electronic stability control, as well as remote driving technology. The new technology allows the driver to use their remote control key to turn on and operate the Surui when standing at a 20 m radius outside the vehicle.

The Surui comes is powered by a turbocharged 1.5 L engine. The engine, which powers BYD's current generation L3 and G3 models, can produce up to 113 kW and 240 Nm of torque. It can accelerate to 100 km/h from a standing start in 8.9 seconds. The Surui is driven by a six-speed manumatic dual clutch transmission.
