Dongfeng Peugeot begins manufacturing brand new 1.6 L CVVT engine

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 28) - Dongfeng Peugeot has held a ceremony marking official production of its brand new 1.6 L continuous variable valve timing engine at its factory in Xiangyang, Hubei, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. Management and staff from the joint venture's research and development, quality control and production teams were all present at the event.

The brand new 1.6 L CVVT engine (pictured) makes use of a diamond-like carbon coated valve lash adjuster, variable stroke fuel pump, light weight spark plugs and other state-of-the-art technology. The engine boasts a maximum output of 86 kW. It is able to produce large amount of torque at low speeds, while being very energy efficient. The engine's new catalytic converter helps produce cleaner emissions. The engine itself meets Euro V emission standards.
