Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 25) - Following the release of the fuel-efficient Bluemotion Golf, FAW Volkswagen has announced that the Bluemotion version of the Sagitar compact will be making its market debut this November, Beijing News reported today. It is expected to have a starting price of 160,000 yuan ($25,281).

The Bluemotion Sagitar will be powered by a 1.4 L turbocharged TSI engine producing 131 hp and driven by a seven-speed DSG transmission. Several advanced technologies, including a Stop-Start System, regenerative braking and low resistance tires, help noticeably decrease the Sagitar's fuel consumption rate.

The Bluemotion series is notable for its emphasis on providing higher fuel efficiency than VW's standard models. According to several dealerships, Chinese consumers on the whole are still not aware of the Bluemotion moniker. The Bluemotion Golf currently accounts for less than ten percent of the model's total sales in the country.
