Shanghai VW sales since beginning of 2012 have exceeded 1m units
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 8) - Shanghai Volkswagen announced that it has sold one million vehicles since the beginning of the year, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. The announcement implies that the joint venture is on path to fulfill its 2012 sales target of 1.28 million vehicles without any major problem.
The Lavida (pictured above) and New Passat have each managed to bring over 180,000 new orders since the beginning of the year. Sales of Polo sedans and Tiguan crossovers have both exceeded 140,000 units over the same time frame. Over 26,000 Tourans have been sold.
The JVs Skoda brand was able to bring in nearly 180,000 orders since the beginning of the year. Sales of the Octavia (pictured below) exceeded 18,000 units, while the Fabia and Superb brought in 30,000 orders each.
