Beijing Hyundai anticipates 2012 production and sales figures to total 850000 units
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai December 4) - Beijing Hyundai, one of China's most rapidly expanding joint ventures, expects it production and sales figures for 2012 to reach 850,000 units, Beijing Business Today reported today. According to a statement made by General Manager Bai Xiaoqin, 2012 will be a major year for the joint venture, as it has made major progress in resolving problems with limited production capacity.
The major reason Beijing Hyundai has been able to increase its production capacity is due to completion of its third factory, which is able to manufacture both automobiles and engines. The factory makes extensive use of automation and other state-of-the-art technologies in order to ensure high production outputs.
Following completion, the factory has helped boost Beijing Hyundai's annual automobile production capacity from 600,000 units to one million units. The JV further expects both production and sales figures to reach 1.4 million units by 2015. Beijing Hyundai aims to manufacture its tenth millionth vehicles in 2017.
Beijing Hyundai manufactured its four millionth vehicle (pictured above) last week. According to BAIC Group and Beijing Hyundai Board Chairman, the event represents an important stepping stone for the JV. It has only been 15 months since Beijing Hyundai manufactured its three millionth vehicle last summer. Mr. Xu boasted that Beijing Hyundai will continue to use the latest technology to improve its production facilities and sales services.
