Dongfeng Yulon aims to sell 55000 vehicles in 2013

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 17) - Dongfeng Yulon, a joint venture partnership between Taiwan's largest manufacturer, Yulon Motor, and Dongfeng Motor, is in the process of establishing a independent sales company. According to internal sources, the new company has already received government approval, and is anticipated to begin operation by next year.

The Dongfeng Yulon JV has seen a great deal of success with its Luxgen SUV (pictured above), which made its market debut in late 2011. Revenues from sales of the Luxgen totaled 1.62 billion yuan ($257.33m) in 2011 and 6.48 billion yuan ($1.02b) in 2012, allowing the JV's profits to far exceed expectations

Following the release of its Master CEO minivan (pictured below), Dongfeng Yulon will release the Luxgen7 minivan and a new subcompact sedan later this year. The JV is aiming to sell 55,000 vehicles this year, which should bring in over nine billion yuan ($1.43b) in revenue. After completing its product lineup in 2018, the JV will set it sights on achieving an annual sales target of 500,000 vehicles.

The Taiwan-baised car maker aimed to boost annual own-brand car sales in China to half a million vehicles in 2020 after completing its product portfolio for the world's biggest motor market. The figure is about 10 times higher than the company's sales target of 55,000 units for next year in the Chinese market.
