Jaguar Land Rover's Chinese sales grow 48% in FY2012
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 14) - Jaguar Land Rover sold a total of 77,144 vehicles in China over the course of the 2012 fiscal year, Beijing News reported today. The figure represents year-on-year growth of 48 percent for the manufacturer. Land Rovers accounted for 67,648 of the year's sales, while the remaining 9,496 sales were of Jaguars.
21,796 of those sales were made in the first quarter of this year. Land Rover and Jaguar sales constituted 17,653 units and 4,143 units, respectively.
JLR China President Bob Grace has previously mentioned his desire to see the manufacturer maintain sales growth of 20 percent to 30 percent in China this year. At the same time, Mr. Grace also confirmed that the number of Jaguar Land Rover dealerships in China will exceed 200 before the end of 2014. The dealerships will strive to provide high-quality customer service. JLR currently possesses 163 certified Chinese dealerships spread across 90 cities.
