GAC 2013 sales target to remain fixed at 200b yuan

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 24) - Guangzhou Automobile Group announced that it will minimize losses of its customers and dealerships affected by the recent earthquake in Lushan county, Sichuan, the Guangzhou Daily reported today. However, GAC Group General Manager Zeng Qinghong made a point that the manufacturer's 2013 sales target of 200 billion yuan ($32.01b) will remain unchanged.

GAC announced that it would fully support the relief effort for the Lushan earthquake, having donated over 20 automobiles, as well as tents, clothes and other necessary goods. The value of the manufacturer's donations has already exceeded ten million yuan ($1.61m) to date. The manufacturer's dealerships in the area are playing an important role in providing vehicles for emergency disaster relief, medical and logistic use. GAC will support its dealerships in the area, ensuring that they don't suffer any losses.

According to Mr. Zeng, GAC's production and sales goals for this year are still set at one million vehicles each, while its sales target will remain fixed at 200 billion yuan ($32.01b). According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, GAC sold a total of 193,000 vehicles in the first quarter of this year, representing year-on-year growth of 16.61 percent. The manufacturer's market share increased 0.1 percent, finishing at 3.56 percent.
