Majority of Chinese automobile manufacturers fail to complete 1/3 of 2013 sales targets from January to April

A report appearing in the Science and Technology Daily reveals that approximately 90 percent of the 21 major automobile manufacturers in the country have failed to complete one-third of their 2013 sales targets. Hyundai, Nissan and Volvo were among the few manufacturers that managed to reach the one-third mark.
Despite this, several manufacturers reported strong sales results in April. The Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition was one of the major factors credited with stimulating sales over the month. GM, Audi and Mercedes-Benz were among the brands that managed year-on-year growth of at least ten percent, while Ford and Volvo managed to report growth of over 30 percent.
