BAIC expects annual production capacity for two Zhuzhou factories to total 500000 vehicles
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 9) - BAIC Group has signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Hunan to establish a new six billion yuan ($969.65m) automobile factory in Zhuzhou, Beijing News reported today. The factory, which will be BAIC's second in the city, will be able to manufacture up to 300,000 vehicles annually. It is scheduled to begin test production between late 2013 and early 2014, with full-scale production slated to start in 2015.
BAIC is already constructing a three billion yuan ($484.83m) production site in Zhuzhou. The site, which is designed to possess an annual production capacity of 200,000 automobiles and engines, will play a major role in helping the manufacturer develop its own brand product line up.
Following completion of both sites, BAIC's annual production capacity in Zhuzhou will total 500,000 vehicles.
