GAC's Trumpchi own brand aided by introduction of new GA3

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 30) - Guangzhou Automobile Group's Trumpchi own brand has come one step closer to completion with the production of the GA3. The GA3, which will be priced between 75,800 yuan and 119,800 yuan ($12,272-$19,395), is the own brand's first entry into the compact market.

In a report appearing in Beijing Business Today, GAC General Manager Wu Song stated that his team "has the highest expectations for the Trumpchi GA3 [pictured]", adding that he believes the new model will help the manufacturer achieve its monthly sales target of 5,000 units.

In addition to the currently available 1.6 L version, the GA3 will also come with 1.3 L turbocharged and 1.5 L turbocharged engine options next year. It is supported by a front MacPherson and rear five-bar independent suspension, granting it superior handling performance. The GA3 is aimed at younger buyers with fashionable styling and a slew of accessories, including a multimedia entertainment system, power sunroof and independent climate control.

GAC has plans to expand the Trumpchi brand even further. According to Deputy General Manager Huang Xiangdong, a new compact SUV and crossover are among the new models to be added to the own brand's lineup.

34,000 Trumpchis have been sold so far this year, over double the amount sold over the first half of 2012. According to Mr. Wu, GAC's Trumpchi brand has set respective sales targets of 120,000 vehicles and 250,000 vehicles for 2014 and 2015.
