BYD profit over 400 million in the first half year, electric car will launch in October

BYD sold 260 thousand vehicles in the first half year, increased 26% over the same period of last year. Yunfei Li, vice general manager of BYD, told media at media communication conference at Changsha basement. Meanwhile, influenced by energy market recovery, it forecasts that profit of BYD will reach ¥400 to ¥500 million in the first half year, increase 2358% to 2973% over the same period of last year.

As is understood, profit of BYD is divided into 3 parts: IT, energy and automobile. Under the influence of huge loss of energy, profit of BYD was only ¥813.77 million last year.

However, BYD is eye-catching in automobile industry. Sales of SAGE and L3 exceed over 10 thousand for months, and G6 has become the companion of Chinese own brand B-class car. SAGE, which was launched on May this year at Auto Shanghai, is climbing up. It sold 1,900 in June. After preparation in late of August, sales of SAGE will climb up dramatically.

As mentioned about the plan of the next half year, Yunfei Li said, Qin Jiang, successor of dual-mode electric vehicle will launch market in October. It only takes 5.9 second to 100 miles acceleration, and has 50 miles range before it needs a fueling charge using electronic only. Its fuel consumption is around 2L/100 km with hybrid model. According to reporter understanding, Prius of Toyota fuel consumption of 100 kmis around 4.1Lwithhybrid model. Yunfei Li said sales channel of new energy and traditionalvehicle of BYD will integrated together. No matter red network or blue one, it is allowed to sell as long as dealers apply and meet its standard.
