Dongfeng Peugeot Sales of First 9 Months Exceed Dongfeng Citroen Did, General Manager Jianian Pan Home Stay

After handover with former general manager Jianian Pan before end of this year, he will take the position officially.

According to inner people discourse that Miamian Pan is arranged home stay by Sheen Long. His position change is concerned with sales pressure.

Since the last May, it is only more than 1 year after Miamian Pan taken general manager position. Dongfeng Citroen faces a very struggle situation that competition from outside. On the other side, its sales even are exceeded by its own brother brand Dongfeng Peugeot.

Citroen is one of the oldest foreign brands coming into China. It has over 20 year’s history since it cooperated with Dongfeng in 1992 to found Dongfeng Citroen joint venture. Meanwhile, Peugeot experienced a hard time in Guangzhou, and then turn to cooperate with Dongfeng. It has 10 years later than Citroen, but makes a huge progress in products, channels, brand value etc.

According to Shen Long sales bulletin, Shen Long has sold more than 400 thousand up to 7 Oct to 401,292, which has increased 27.73%. It hit the record high. According to present tendency, Shen Long has no suspicious to exceed its own record of last year’s 440,028.

However, if compared with Dongfeng Citroen with Dongfeng Peugeot, it is easy to find that Dongfeng Peugeot grows stable and fast, and gets closer and closer to Dongfeng Citroen, finally exceeds Dongfeng Citroen.

Dongfeng Citroen and Dongfeng Peugeot have a very similar configuration and market position. Both of them are outsourced by Shen Long Wuhan plant. Take new Elysee and the upcoming new Peugeot 301 for an example, both of cars have the same engines, the same chassis, and similar advertisement: French elegance, and with the level longest wheelbase 2652mm.

From dealers perspective, Dongfeng Peugeot has 410 4S shops up to 2012, and more than thousands service network, which covers 273 cities, including 34 new, cover rate is up to 78%. According to official arrangement, 4S shop will increase to 500 in the next 3 years.

At present, Dongfeng Citroen has advantage on dealer’s number, but part of its dealers profit is decline. Last Oct, 2 4S shop located in Suzhou Wuzhong District and 1 4S shop in Lianyungang suddenly disappeared.
