Qoros Snubbed by Market, Profit Requirement Extremely Urgent

As an ambition late comer, Qoros feels cruel reality at first time.

According to relative statistics, 80 days which from Nov 21 2013 officially launched Guangzhou Auto Exhibition to Feb 9 2014, Qoros 3 passenger car only is register for 32. Meanwhile, Qoros dealer’snetwork build expands struggle. Up to Feb 19, according to official website, it only has 20 dealers opened. Compared with Qoros president GUO Qian “40 dealers at the end of 2013”, it still has a long way to go.

Sales have not opened, and manufacture process does not organize enough, and dealer network is not developed. What is worse, Qoros, which is found for 3 years, has as high as 15 to 17 billion CNY investments already. Ithas lost 2 billion for 3 years. Those problems are in front of the youngest automobile company of China.

After 3 months since new car market launching, Qoros Changshu plant still does not mass production.

As reporter knows from Environment Protection Dept. of Jiangsu Province, Qoros plant which is located at Changshu Jiangsu gets through of environmental impact assessment already. It is during test manufacture phrase. “After getting through of environmental impact assessment, Qoros is approved to trial production.”A relative officer of Environment Protection Dept. tells reporter, “Trial production is debug and run-in phrase before mass production. Meanwhile, it will consider about some environment index as well. The phrase normally takes 6 months. It requires assessment in different phrase during trail production. After all assessment is approved, company may apply for mass production.”

It means that Qoros Changshu plant does not able to mass production at this moment. During run-in phrase, it will influence Qoros 3 supply nationally.

As reporter known, includes dealers in Xiamen, Qingdao, Tangshan, Jinan and Nanjing etc. cities shall wait for 1 – 2 months to pick up cars.

However, what is notice worth that terminal registration does not means sales. “Up to Dec 31, which is 1 month after new car launching market, Qoros 3 has its first owner. Therefore, the real Qoros pickup time is started from Jan of 2014. Because of the Spring Festive and New Year, registration may be delayed. But it will influence too much.”ZHANG Zhiyong, automobile analyst says.
