LI Shufu: Geely Cooperate with Volvo for Electronic Car

LI Shufu, president of Geely Group tells that Geely has discussed with Volvo for electronicdriving power engine and manufacture plant development, which is used for future new energy automobile market competition.

“We still do not have fixed schedule for electronic automobile manufacture, but our direction is sure.” LI Shufu says. Geely will cooperate with Volvo for widely electronic power system research and development.

In fact, Geely has cooperated with Volvo in new energy automobile development area very early. When Geely plans to introduce EC7 pure electronic car into market, it involves Volvo electronictechnology.

As it known, Geely has invested more than 1 billion CNY into new energy automobile development, particularly Geely international resource integration contribute a lot for Geely green energy and new energy automobile research and development recently. The company technology serve has completed.

Recently, Geely has buyout British electronic car manufacturer Emerald, which will continuesit’sglobally resource integration, and enforce new energy auto research and development.

LI Shufu says, cooperation within Geely and Volvo, which under the same group is critical important. Volvo has operated for 4 years with new framework. The first phrase 11 billion dollars investment is transferring to real research result. It will announce series new cars at media conference recently. The research center found in Sweden is put into operation already, and both sides research basic framework mode.

After merged Volvo, Geely Group has adjusted its global development strategy. It makes that“Geely is Geely, Volvo is Volvo” brands relationship. Geely is general public products, but Volvo is luxury automobile brand. “Relationship between Geely and Volvo is not partner and child, but brothers. Both of them belong to Geely Group. Just like others automobile brands, both side ask for cooperation.” LI Shufu says.
