Changan Dramatically Changes Product Line

Last week, before Changan Benben market launching, as reporter known from Changan Automobile, the company products position are covered with each other. Changan Automobile plans to change its product line and quit some modes which position covered with other modes. The existed modes will form couple of series.

Changan Automobile owned brands have introduced new modes into market every year, which makes its product line too long. Its market position is covered with each other modes. As reporter known, new Benben will replace Benben Love, and the later one will quit market. “New Benben and Benben Mini will cooperate with each other with high-low combination. They will support each other both on price and position.” according to introduction by GONG Bing, vice president of Changan Automobile, “Changan owned brand passenger car product line is getting rich. Besides the series we have now, it will introduce higher level D-class car. CS75 will launch market at Beijing Auto Exhibition. ALSVIN V7 will launch market within this year as well.” As it known, Changan Automobile will adopt familization strategy, which aims to integrate join force, such as Benben series.

Besides, as GONG Bing says, Changan Automobile focuses on platformization, generalization and modularization to improve its competency in the future. The company will introduce more products under platform. Platform is used for product design, and chassis can general used, and resource shall share with each other.

As for capacity shortage, ZHANG Baolin says during interview that “Changan owned brand develops very fast recent years. Capacity shall increase from 400 thousand to 600 thousand this year. It requires more about the capacity improvement. Changan Automobile has better plant and product line in Hefei, which is able to fit our plant investment and capacity improve requirement. It is also the important reason for our Hefei Changan merge case.”
