GUO Qian: Qoros Position will not Change, 32 Sales per Month Isn’t True
Qoros is eye catching since the day it born. It does not only in China, but also in Europe. Every single exhibition, Qoros booth is totally surrounded by mass public. They are media, audience and opponent. The situation has its peak at Guangzhou Auto Exhibition, the first product of company Qoros 3 publishes its price and sales facing outside. After 4 months, what does Qoros performs? What is the channel development going of Qoros? Qoros does not answer questions officially. There is no clue even at China Passenger Car Association. Rumors spread over night. “Where is Qoros?”, “Qoros 4 is only sold 32 per month.” On the last day of March, GUO Qian, president and CEO of Qoros, WEI Sifan, director of marketing and sales executive, and HE Gete, director of design have presented and answer all questions.
Figures are the most powerful weapon against rumors. WEI Sifan introduces that Qoros is sold about 100 this Jan, sales of Feb is about 350. The figure for March is about 20% growth over performance of Feb to 440 cars. Dealers are 24 at the end of March, and 26 at the beginning of April. “Figures are not very big, but we can tell that development is stable and faster than our expectation.”
WEI Sifan says that 440 sales per month and 26 dealers are just first step of Qoros. “It is the necessary step for a new brand. It is a climb. Capacity need climb, and customer identification needs climb as well.” WEI Sifan has not said about sales goal this year, but wishes to reach a reasonable level, which are 1,000 per month.
In the market full of “10 thousand orders”, 1,000 sales per month is far from big good news. It arouses critical in fickleness Chinese automobile industry. A new brand, a new car, no sensation, no survives.
GUO Qian says the critical from outside has influenced his team for some time. However, he has agreement with its international team, China needs high value product provider. “It is impossible for a new brand becomes star over night. At present, Qoros is still on its way, and it will not change its position.”
