BYD: Tesla For Minority, QIN is More Local

QIN has entered new energy automobile segment since 17 Dec of year 2013. QIN has realized 673 cars with capacity limitation of Jan. Feb is 834 cars. Sale accumulated for the first quarter mounts to 2,348 cars, which takes the top sales of first quarter among all expectation.

QIN owns several subsidy in Shanghai with price around 130 thousands to 140 thousands CNY. It attracts many people. Besides, free Shanghai local license is another reason for mass public to choose QIN. What noteworthy, both of quality and performance, Qin exceeds the same level products of joint ventures. “TID” application means QIN has the same level of powertrain with the technology of the world.

However, LI Yunfei says, there is no schedule to separate a new brand out. If sales of QIN, TANG and super sport HAN are far exceed expectation, BYD will consider about to found a new brand for new energy automobile, just like Harvard series for Great Wall.

“As for Tesla, we can build a “Tesla” in any time. We do not do it, not because of our manufacture and research ability, but we are more professional than Tesla. All the core parts of Tesla, we can produce by ourselves. Besides, BYD leads the world technology in many aspects.” LI Yunfei says, “We are building the largest product line in the world at the beginning. However, Bill Gates and Buffett visited the product line in year 2010 before. We experience some resistance. If Tesla tries to build a mega battery plant this year, but we already built it in 2010.”
