Changan Ford decides to recall 170,000 new Mondeo due to the steering engine problem
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 18th) – On May 16th, Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision announced officially Changan Ford had submitted recall plan since Jun. 22nd, 2015 for total 172,864 new Mondeo cars manufactured from Jan. 4th, 2013 to Mar. 25th, 2015.
The steering engine shell joints of the new Mondeo cars recalled in this plan are easily corroded in high corrosive environment. The bolts might rupture, leading to the steering electrical machine breaking away from shells then the steering system would turn into mechanical mode due to assistance losing, resulting in heaving steering and potential safety risk. Changan Ford will test all the recalled cars on above flaws and change steering engine for free if the bolts ruptured or change bolts and add sealed fixation for joints to remove potential danger.
